Leaves Professional Development

The professional development training about leaves is designed to provide HR professionals and managers with an understanding of the federal and state leave laws—like the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Paid Family and Medical Leave Act—and how to comply with those laws.

Not only will the training address the black letter law, but it will also focus on how to comply with the law in real life scenarios, equipping participants with practical knowledge.

The training will address common questions like the following:

  • How does FMLA leave and PFMLA leave interact?

  • What’s the difference between an employee being eligible for FMLA leave and qualifying for FMLA leave?

  • Must a school district designate an employee’s leave as FMLA leave even if they don’t request FMLA leave?

  • What information can a school district require an employee to provide to support their need for FMLA leave?

  • Can an employee take sick leave and PFMLA leave at the same time?

  • Must a school district provide supplemental benefits while an employee is out on PFMLA leave?

  • When is an employee on PFMLA leave entitled to continue to receive health benefits?

All professional development experiences at Stevens Clay are tailored to YOUR needs. Length of time and format of professional development will be determined after our initial consultation with you.
